Location Scouting

We are available to scout and provide current photographs directly from the field within twenty four hours, and often the same day!.

Securing and Managing Locations

We will secure locations, negotiate contracts with locations and handle all logistics. We are able to provide experienced and knowledgeble Location managers as needed.

Travel and Lodgings

Through our partnership with the area's premier travel agency, Santa Barbara Travel Bureau, we will leverage our volume of bookings to obtain the most competitive rates possible for your production's lodgings needs. We also are able to handle transportation and black car service as needed.

Permits

With years of experience working with all of the permitting jurisdictions in Santa Barbara County we will painlessly and quickly help with your permitting process. Our close relationships with the people responsible for issuing your permit are invaluable when running in to obstacles or last minute changes.

Securing Production Services

We have the connections to facilitate your critical production needs including securing high quality location catering, P.A.s and other local hires, equipment rentals, parking and base camps and more!

Listing your location

Big Picture Location services.
We specialize in marketing the finest of private estates, ranches, and unique homes throughout the Santa Barbara area and beyond. We present and market your property to location professionals and producers within the film, television, commercial, print industry, and upscale events.

Why List?
Have your property work for you. This can be very lucrative, while also helping to generate a substantial income from the rental of your property. You may qualify for 14 days of tax-free rental of your property.

What we do:
At no cost or obligation to you, a representative of our company will visit your property to become familiar with the different specifics and photograph your property. We will then upload the photos into our database for easy viewing. As client inquiries come in that are appropriate for your property, we will contact you and let you know all the specifics of the project. We will offer our extensive knowledge and suggest a fair rate based on each project and the specifics of each project. If the project and the specifics are a good fit for you, we will then make an appointment for the location professional associated with the project to scout your property. Once both parties have agreed on all of the specifics of the project, we will generate a contract on your behalf for your review and approval. We understand that each homeowner may be concerned with certain aspects and limitations of use. We are here to protect your interests, making sure your needs are met and the rules and regulations which you set forth are in the contract before you sign. Our job is to negotiate the best possible rental fee. We only work with insured and reputable companies. In addition to listing your home on our site, we offer the unique service of free marketing to our exclusive clients. We field all incoming inquiries and attend all technical scouts after your property has been chosen. We handle everything from start to finish.

The process:
We will contact you with each worthy inquiry / offer with all the specific information such as budget, rental period, amount of people on the property, and areas of use. Once you agree to all the conditions, the production will need access to your home for multiple scouts. All scheduling will be arranged by Big Picture Location Services. Once your home is chosen for an upcoming shoot or event, a Big Picture Location Services representative will be present to ensure that all points of the contract are adhered to by both parties. Big Picture Location Services adds a 30% fee which will be paid by the production by adding the fee on top of your agreed upon net rate. You will receive your funds and certificate of liability insurance prior to any filming activity on the property. For your protection, we always collect and hold a negotiated security deposit for any overages or damages. In addition the production will be required to provide a certificate of liability insurance which lists the homeowner as an additional insured.
